Gary Schanman currently serves as SVP, Video Products at Charter Communications.   In this role, Gary oversees the development and management of Charter's rapidly evolving video product portfolio across platforms, including the development of innovative cloud-based guides, evolving the Charter TV applications, introducing new CPE, and expanding the linear and on demand content offering.

Prior to this role, Gary Schanman served as SVP, Strategy, Revenue Management and Operations for Cablevision Media Sales.   In this role, Gary managed strategy, pricing and inventory optimization as well as oversaw the end-to-end operations for the division.  Gary actively migrated the company from traditional spot-based sales to impression-based and programmatic addressable HH advertising

Prior, Gary was senior vice president of broadband product management.  In this role, he was responsible for helping drive the product strategy, development roadmap and day-to-day operations for the company’s IP-delivered services such as Optimum Online [core service and portals], Optimum WiFi, Optimum Voice and streaming IP video applications.

Prior, Mr. Schanman served as Cablevision’s Senior Vice President of Video Product Management.  In this role, he oversaw the day-to-day strategy, development and operations for the Cablevision Digital TV service as well as development and launch of the company’s most innovative products and services such as the iTV and addressable advertising platforms; the Optimum TV streaming App; its Remote Storage DVR product - DVR Plus and over 20 interactive TV channels including Optimum Classifieds.

Prior to that, Mr. Schanman served as Comcast’s Vice President, of Advertising and Interactive Commerce Product Development, and was responsible for the company’s advanced advertising and consumer iTV strategy, as well as the implementation of their EBIF interactive TV platform.
Mr. Schanman began his cable career as Cablevision’s Director of Strategy and Business Development for Optimum Online and iO Digital Cable, developing and executing strategies to help grow the iTV offerings of iO and to fortify the Optimum Online product feature portfolio.

Before to joining Cablevision, Mr. Schanman worked in product management and business development for iWon.com, currently part of IAC.  Prior to that, Mr. Schanman served as a strategy consultant in the entertainment and media strategy practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers.  Mr. Schanman began his career in advertising as an account manager for Young & Rubicam and Ogilvy & Mather.

Mr. Schanman holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BS in both Finance and Advertising from Syracuse University.
