As a Vice President in Distribution for AMC Networks and its popular and award-winning cable television networks AMC, BBC AMERICA, IFC, SundanceTV, and WE tv, Roy Cho negotiates carriage agreements and renewals, coordinates marketing partnerships and campaigns, and manages ongoing relationships with various traditional affiliate partners and virtual MVPDs.  In addition, Cho strategically plans partnerships with collaborators to promote BBC AMERICA’s slate of programming. He joined AMC Networks in this role in 2016.

Prior to joining AMC Networks Cho worked as a corporate M&A and private equity attorney in the New York offices of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Winston & Strawn LLP. While on leave of absence from Kirkland & Ellis, Cho won the Democratic primary and earned the nomination for U.S. Congress in New Jersey’s 5th Congressional District with 90.4% of the vote. During his campaign, he raised $1.3 million, earned the newspaper endorsements of New Jersey’s largest newspapers and received 43% of the vote in the general election.

Cho earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center where he was the Editor in Chief of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal. While studying at Georgetown Law as an evening student, he served as Correspondence Director to U.S. Senator Byron L. Dorgan.  Prior to law school, he worked as an Aide to the Governor of New Jersey and as Special Assistant to the Deputy Executive Director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.  Cho earned his undergraduate degree in political science from Brown University, where he graduated with honors.
